SAVE SCHENLEY was formed in 2005 by the Parents of Schenley Students, current Schenley Students, Schenley Alumni, the Teachers & Staff at Schenley High School, plus Friends & Supporters of Schenley High School from both Oakland's University & Cultural community and from the historic 100 year old Schenley Farms Neighborhood.

In early 2006, through the tireless efforts of all the members and supporters of SAVE SCHENLEY, we all convinced the Pittsburgh Public School District to reverse it's decision to close Schenley High School and from moving it's students to a Middle School facility in East Liberty.

Later near the end of 2006, our original online forum website was shut down. We created this NEW website shortly after the Halloween 2007 press conference by the Superintendent of the Pittsburgh Public School District, when he announced that he is again attempting to close Schenley High School and before August 2008, breakup it's current student body into 4 smaller & distinctly different groups by sending them to currently closed middle school facilities, spread out from East Liberty to the Hill District.

SAVE SCHENLEY in February 2006 had over 1100+ members and supporters signed up, when we politically influenced the Pittsburgh Public School District into reversing their plan to include Schenley High School in it's list of 22 schools being closed and either sold or demolished.

From NOW through February 2008, there are a series of critical meetings by the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Public School District, that will decide the future of Schenley High School, it's programs, and the makeup of it's student body.

We need your opinions, advise, ideas and support. PLEASE register at YOUR new SAVE SCHENLEY online Forum Website. You can not create a new thread or post replies in existing threads unless you first register. In addition, a few threads are not viewable by the general public, unless they are registered.

This online forum is updated daily, so come back often.

Thank you,

The Red & Black Schenley Nation
